I want to do something, but I don't know what. I want to work on the chair I posted last weekend, all I have left is the seat, but I'm not "feeling" it. I did primer it last weekend:
and paint by brushing on a few shades of gray and white (with granite glitter in it!):
and glazed it with a mix of black tinted glaze (w/black paint mixed in) and gray paint:
I did the jute webbing on the bottom:
I tied springs, placed batting and stapled more drop cloth over all that:
I reupholstered the back (and arms) w/ drop cloth:
and sewed some double welt cord for it and hot glued it on:
I cut the foam for the seat and measured the fabric for the seat:
I cut the fabric for the seat, wrapped it around the seat and there it sits, just like I left it last sunday (because my foam piece is too small and I need to fill out the rounded front w/some scrap foam):
Instead of working on the seat, this is what I did today:
This is as far as I've gotten, tearing it apart. The thing is, I don't want to sand it, prime it, paint it, distress it, upholster it, etc. etc. etc. Not right now at least. I'm thinking this isn't what I wanted to do and thinking of doing something else! Yeah... it's an ADD kind of day...

I finally found my fabric!
After hunting high and low last weekend through fabric shops for the perfect fabric for my couch and chair, this is what I picked out:
The store called last week and said it was on a 12 week backorder! Luckily, I found it at fabricguru.com and ordered it this morning. I'm super excited to be getting my chair finished!!! If you missed the last post about it, here is the chair I am putting it on:
I got the jute webbing and foam on the arms and back a couple weeks ago and it has been covered with an ugly purple bedspread since then.
Since I can't work on the chair, I gotta do something with myself! This is what I'm working on this weekend.
The lady I got it from had it tore down to here, well, minus pulling all the upholstery tacks, which I did today! It also has a jumbled mass of springs for the seat.... so I'm going to be tying some springs!! Luckily, I managed to get it painted today before the rain hit! We need the rain so bad, I just felt terrible wishing it away!!!
